Certified Translations Through Trusted Partners

When you need a document translated for official use, the translation must be "certified" meaning a qualified translator attests to its accuracy and completeness. USCIS, courts, government agencies, and foreign institutions all require certified translations for any document not originally in English.

Notary Gig Harbor partners with established, ATA-member translation agencies that specialize in legal, medical, and immigration document translation. Every translation comes with a certificate of accuracy that meets USCIS requirements and is accepted by courts, government agencies, educational institutions, and international organizations.

The advantage of working with us is that we bundle translation with notarization and, when needed, apostille services. Instead of coordinating between a translator, a notary, and the Secretary of State's office separately, you handle everything through one point of contact. This saves time, reduces errors, and often costs less than using separate providers.

Translation FAQ

What is a certified translation?

A certified translation includes a signed statement from the translator (or translation agency) attesting that the translation is a true and accurate representation of the original document. This certificate is typically notarized for additional authenticity. USCIS, U.S. courts, and most government agencies require certified translations for any document not in English.

How long does translation take?

Standard turnaround is 3-5 business days for most documents. Simple, short documents (like a one-page birth certificate) are often completed in 1-2 business days. Rush service (24-48 hours) is available for most languages at 1.5x the standard rate. Complex technical, medical, or legal documents may take longer depending on length and subject matter.

Do you translate the documents yourselves?

No. We partner with professional translation agencies that employ ATA-certified translators specializing in legal, medical, and immigration documents. This ensures you get translations from subject-matter experts, not general-purpose translators. We coordinate the entire process and handle the notarization and apostille steps in-house.

Can translated documents be apostilled?

Yes. If you need a translated document for use in a foreign country that is a member of the Hague Convention, we can apostille the notarized translation. This is common for immigration proceedings, international adoptions, and overseas business filings. Our bundled translation + apostille package is the most cost-effective way to handle this.
